Creative Motion Concepts is a collaboration between Ted Kempgens and Tom Bambard, two lifelong automotive enthusiasts and racers whose many years as friends have resulted in numerous adventures and projects together. Projects as varied as building racecars, restoring classic cars, creating special stunt vehicles and supplying cars for the film industry just to name a few. CMC was started with two straight forward goals; Deliver the highest level of satisfaction to our customers regardless of the project, and keep it within the customer’s budget.

Though different in professional backgrounds, Both Ted and Tom share a common love for vehicles and the people involved with them. With their combined expertise and enthusiasm, and the shared mindset to provide the highest level of excellence in everything they do, it only made sense for Ted and Tom to join forces to offer a unique range of services that utilized all the special knowledge and expertise that both have to offer.
CMC’s facility
Located just North of Tampa Florida, CMC offers a full range of design, fabrication, performance and restoration services as well as maintaining an inventory of rental vehicles to support the film industry. Our in-house fabrication shop equipped with surface plates, Full machine shop, English wheel, Pullmax equipment, upholstery shop and graphics facility makes anything possible.

The Owners
Ted Kempgens is a master fabricator and craftsman with an automotive degree from Northwood and over 35 years of experience in transforming vision into reality for himself and his customers. From his roots as a youth working for his father’s automotive businesses and his lifetime in professional motorsports, Ted spent many years as the owner of Creative Motorsports (Ted’s company prior to CMC), where he designed and built winning race cars, exciting stunt vehicles and street vehicles as well as designing and building a wide array of specialty support vehicles for private and commercial use. With a reputation for creativity and ingenuity, many of Teds customers have repeatedly come to him because others have said that something is impossible – a challenge that Ted never backs down from! Because of Ted’s experience in creating specialty vehicles for film and stunt work, he was contracted by Tom to do special projects to support film and promotional work, ultimately taking the role of movie car manager and transportation captain on Tom’s latest films.
Trivia note: Ted and Tom also worked together to do all the stunt driving on Tom’s last film including exciting car crash scenes!
Tom Bambard is the President of CMC and like his partner Ted, grew up in the automotive and engineering world. Influenced by his dad’s involvement with sports cars and racing, Tom was a passionate participant in building and racing cars from the age of 5. Tom learned detail and precision mentored by a father who worked in aerospace and built racecars, and following his father’s engineering footsteps, attended the University of Michigan to become an ME. Interestingly, after college Tom’s professional interests took him down a career path in marketing and film production, while utilizing his background in engineering to support his involvement in professional racing and personal automotive projects. In his marketing career Tom has worked with most major auto manufacturers winning numerous awards for creative promotions and developed successful sponsorship promotions involving motorsports with NASCAR, NHRA, SPEED, Grand Am and more. Tom has also produced and distributed many feature films and documentaries developing a detailed understanding of the special needs involved with film production.
Combined, Ted and Tom have built and restored hundreds of cars, earning awards and the admiration of countless car owners. They have raced internationally and held professional licenses in NASCAR, SCCA, IMSA, FIA, AMA, Grand-Am and more both developing extensive experience in virtually all forms of motorsports including oval track, road racing and drag racing – even motorcycle racing. Both have long been active car club members with historic clubs, Corvette clubs, rodding clubs, foreign make clubs and street and muscle car clubs and have gained a deep understanding of the needs and demands of a full range of enthusiasts from the racer, to the casual cruiser to participants in concourse show competition. It is out of this depth of experience and the passion behind it, that Ted and Tom have created a truly unique organization that is both a culture and a business.
